Claiming Process

1

Create an organization

If you haven’t already, create an organization in your Dashboard under Settings > Organization. Set the Is Brand flag to indicate this organization represents a brand.
2

Navigate to Brands

Go to Brands in the Dashboard sidebar. Search for your brand name or create a new brand record.
3

Initiate the claim

Click Claim Brand on the brand page. You’ll be prompted to verify ownership.
4

Verify ownership

Verification can be completed through:
  • GS1 Company Prefix — if your organization holds a GS1 Company Prefix (GLN), provide it for automatic verification
  • Domain verification — prove ownership of the brand’s website domain
  • Manual review — for cases where automated verification isn’t possible, our team reviews the claim
5

Manage your products

Once verified, all products under your brand are linked to your organization. You can edit product data, enable the resolver, and configure analytics.

Data Authority Levels

After claiming, your product data is tagged with an authority level:
LevelDescription
SeededInitial data from import or crowd-sourcing
Brand ClaimedBrand owner has claimed and can edit
GS1 VerifiedVerified through GS1 Company Prefix / GLN
Higher authority levels mean your data takes precedence when multiple sources provide conflicting information.

Managing Multiple Brands

An organization can claim multiple brands. Each brand maintains its own product catalog, resolver rules, and analytics. Team members with Manager or Owner roles can manage all brands under the organization.

Transferring Brand Ownership

If you need to transfer a brand to another organization (e.g., after an acquisition), contact support@closient.com. Brand transfers require approval from both the current and new owner organizations.

Managing Products

Add, edit, and organize your product catalog.
